Apologies, we've had to raise the cost of the smaller international packages. What used to cost $9.50 to ship now costs $13.50, and the international distro gal was bleeding money for a few months. The US postal system is horrific, truly. For that much money from Japan you get express with tracking and insurance. :/

With this in mind, what do people think? Is it worth keeping TIP running? Or is shipping simply becoming too expensive? (And, no, pretty sure all the members are still pretty adamant about not putting our fansubs up for download, so that's still not an option.)

ETA 3/18: Thank you everyone for your awesome responses. We'll keep going! <3

Yea the cheapest option to mail USPS internationally is really expensive and unreliable. But I don't think the postage issue should stop TIP from running. No one is making profit, just need to adjust the postage whenever USPS does, and make sure distro gal don't bleed money anymore. If there's need to keep the costs low, is there a possibility to have international distro in Asia and/or EU? However I am not planning to go back to Hong Kong yet so I can't help…

We did used to have an international distro gal (me, when I was in Japan), but right now most of our members are in the US. I'm always leery of having a complete stranger do it for us, just because there is other people's money involved. But you're right, it might be worth looking into again.
