I am very, very happy to announce that the Sampler Disk, the first project that *I* ([profile] jenebi :) ) coordinated is COMPLETE! Yes, people other than [personal profile] ekusudei can get work done. As long as [personal profile] ekusudei helps. And nudges us sometimes. Actually, pretty much everyone here at Team TIP helped on this disk, even if they don't remember now. Thanks, everybody! <3

I would also like to announce a NEW project, that will also be coordinated by me. After working on a clip from Cocktail for the Sampler, I decided to translate the whole thing, so sometime in the relatively-distant future, you will be able to see the full-version of Cocktail... with subtitles. Note that this does not necessarily mean it will make the revue any easier to understand. ;)  (The clip on the Sampler comes from the Hakataza production of the show, while our full release will be the Last Day in Tokyo. This still leaves you plenty of opportunity to go out and buy the Grand Theater and National Tour versions. Aren't we sneaky? *eg*)

Thanks for sticking with us in spite of our glacier-speed release schedule. <3

Eeeee, yay Sampler Disk! And yay Cocktail, too! I still haven't gotten to see it, so seeing it subtitled will be shiny. Thanks for continuing to work on this whole project, it is incredibly happy-making for those of us who speak very little Japanese. <333

Er... I have a question entirely unrelated to this post. (Although YAY about Cocktail and the sampler disc!) Who is it who actually copies and sends out the discs? There seems to be a problem with mine, and I don't know who to speak to.

Oh, that's not good. :/ When did you get them? We've had a bunch of people covering distro at different times. What kind of problem? Was it like this?

Anyway, shoot me an email. I started covering distro this week, and I can send you new copies.

I believe I ordered them back in late November, but they didn't actually arrive until a couple of weeks ago.

The problem... my computer either doesn't acknowledge the discs at all, or starts playing them but then stops five minutes in. Regardless of which it is, the disc drive makes terrifyingly crunchy sorts of noises throughout, and the fan goes haywire (at least, I think it's the fan, based on the noise). Is that a drive/disc compatibility problem?

Wow. I don't know what it is, but it sounds more like a bad copy to me. ^^;

What do you need new copies of, and should I send them to your school address?

ETA: Ah, I see the original email. I'll just send you everything, then. ;) Let me know which address you want them sent to.

My heroine! *adores you* School address, if you don't mind. And if you want some money for shipping/discs/whatnot, please don't hesitate to say so, I'm more than happy to pay again. After all, subtitled Takarazuka > sliced bread AND indoor plumbing AND the zipper, COMBINED.

All ready to go out on Monday. <3 I'm not including NBN, though, because in another week or so I'm hoping to have version two done, which will be much nicer quality since someone gave us a better TV recording. ;)

And if you want some money for shipping/discs/whatnot

No. *frowny face* No paying twice!

Yayyy! Thank you so so much! I can't wait. *leaps about*

Yay, sampler disk!! You guys rock. :) Also, is the Akanesasu Cocktail the Grand Theater or National Tour version?
Saturday, February 2nd, 2008 07:01 am (UTC)
^Akanesasu/Cocktail being the DVD TCA is selling.
Saturday, February 2nd, 2008 08:28 am (UTC)
Neither. It's the Hakataza Theatre version. :)
Saturday, February 2nd, 2008 05:35 pm (UTC)
Woops. Did we mess up then? I thought that National Tour version was the one that was available on DVD... *is so confused*

The Daigekijou version with Charlie was on video, but never DVD.

The Tokyo raku version with Osa-san and a little Charlie is on DVD.

The Akanesasu version with Osa-san and Midori is on DVD.

The tour version with Osa-san and Fuu-chan was on video, and is now on DVD.

Are we clear?
Sunday, February 3rd, 2008 03:40 pm (UTC)
Wow, they really did a DVD of the Tokyo raku version? I've never heard of them doing that before... Is it one of Osa's sets or something?
Sunday, February 3rd, 2008 03:55 pm (UTC)
Yes, in her second set. The tour version is in her first.
Saturday, February 2nd, 2008 01:05 pm (UTC)
And the full show that [livejournal.com profile] jenebi is doing (like she explained up above) is the Last Day in Tokyo. That's generally the same as the Grand Theater, but it wasn't in this case, because of Charlie's illness.

And the one thing one never, never wants to watch is the Last Day at the Daigekijou version. I started to once, but watching Charlie struggle to walk through all her dance moves was so painful I had to turn it off. :/
