Heya! After saying it was going to be my next project for over ten years, I've finally actually sat down and done it. :D Announcing the release of "SAY IT AGAIN," #7 in the Bow Hall Shakespeare series of 1999, based loosely on Two Gentlemen of Verona. I love this show because it is comedic timing gold. All four young leads were excellent, but Misato Maya and Misa Noeru also contributed to making this gem. Masatsuka Haruhiko's ability to tell stories in snapshots of really intense dialogue has always been a favorite of mine, and I hope with a translation it will show his appeal to more foreign fans.
Also, I realized the other day that the DVD of "Akechi Kogorou's Incident Report -The Black Lizard-" is no longer in print, so I pulled out my 2007 translation, dusted it off, spruced it up, and slapped it on the closing night broadcast. That will be released as soon as I get beta edits back. :) This is one of my top five Takarazuka shows (I remember watching the live show very fondly), and Sakurano Ayane is really intense and great as the musumeyaku lead here. Kimura Shinji does adaptations really well, and his staging for this production was really creative too.
Yeah, hopefully my burst of translating means I'm back in the game. ;)
Also, apologies, but I had to update costs again. I've been letting them slide through the last couple of post office price hikes, and it was getting to the point that I was paying YOU all to watch the TIP shows. I mean, not that I wouldn't do that if I could really afford it.... Maybe I'll win the lottery some day.
