Hi everyone. Just a heads up that international distro will be closed until January.

US/Canada distro will remain open.

ETA: Due to unforeseen circumstances, USA/Canada Distro will also be closed until January.

Hello, hello!

Well, summer is gone, and autumn is almost slipped past as well. Time really is flying this year!

We have one more Mizu release for you this year: Figaro! subs are finally complete and ready for distro. We haven't really done a comedy since Season of Angels, I think? So this is a nice addition to the line-up. Plus this is a Bow Hall which hasn't been released commercially on DVD yet, so hopefully there are some fans out there who haven't seen it before!

Wow, 25 subtitled shows. Maybe that doesn't seem like a large number, but I think it's a lot more than we were ever aiming for when we came up with the idea for TIP in 2006....

Ah, in other news, act 1 of BeruBara is complete, but the translation is a bit stalled due to real life things. I'll be out of the country over the winter holidays, so I don't think it will be finished for the 100th anniversary year as hoped, but, well, it is still coming! :)

And, although the "in progress" list looks sad and bleak, I've been told there are some other projects in the works. *coughcoughcough* So don't give up hope!

Hello all!

So, not the update I was hoping for. I'm unfortunately in the middle of wrestling with the TakaWiki right now, and then suddenly NSG became twenty times more complicated than it ever should have been as well. In the end, I'm not very happy with it. But in all honesty I have a lot of pressing RL things which are becoming more and more pressing, so rather than make you all wait another 3 years, I'm releasing what we have. Hopefully it will tide everyone over, after waiting seven years. So, yes, NSG is announced as complete; please heed the warnings on the page regarding quality.

Hello ladies and gents,

We have a release for March, and it's probably the last one you'd guess! Sora Fantasista!! is now on our list of shows available for distro. A very fun show celebrating the 10th anniversary of Cosmos Troupe, and highly recommended (as always *grin*).

Never Say Goodbye and La Mariposa are both in the beta editing stage.

Figaro! is about 70% translated.

[livejournal.com profile] ruderal_species is going on holiday, so [livejournal.com profile] ekusudei is taking over US distro for the next 3-5 weeks.

Cheers!
The TIP Team

P.S. - Mmm, I suppose I may as well announce that in honor of the 100th anniversary and the 4 versions of BeruBara the Revue has inflicted gifted us with this year, it's 99.9% likely that we shall also be inflicting you with a version of Berubara. *grin* Stay tuned to find out which one we've I've chosen. -- Y.F.D. So, a few things! One is Never Say Goodbye, which has been on our project list since, oh, 2008 or so. At one point it was actually finished! The girls working on it put a lot of work into it, but people move on and wires get crossed and the mail system eats discs and, well.... the distro gals never got it. I feel horribly guilty about it, and I suspect at this point all the people who were eagerly waiting for it have given up hope and even left the fandom at this point. But, still feeling guilty here. So, I'm still working on seeing what can be recovered. I have [livejournal.com profile] wao_wao's translation now (thank you, dear!), but I don't have a TV copy of the show. If anyone has a TV recording they would like to lend to the cause, it would be much appreciated. :)

What else? Ah, [livejournal.com profile] deathaya's La Mariposa is looking good, and the delay is all my fault because I am the slowest beta editor in ... ever. But, yes, it's definitely coming. Coincidentally, so is Figaro!, which means we will have a double-serving of Mizu soon. (Never a terrible thing.)

And, finally, there are a couple of possibilities in the works, one from a lovely fan in Europe, and one that I'm considering in honor of the centennial, but I don't want to make any promises until things are a bit more concrete. *is mysterious*

Happy New Year, everyone!

Still plugging away at things, so no news to report, but wanted to reassure everyone that we were still here.

A new project has been added to the In-Progress list: Figaro! It beat out another show in a poll that I put up on my journal a while ago, so I hope everyone who voted for it is still looking forward to it! (PS - translating puns with visuals into another language and keeping the rhymes is incredibly hard.)

Eep! Sorry it's been so long since our last update. Frankly, the summer wasn't as productive (Zuka-wise) for myself as I had been hoping, but I have plans with the beginning of 2014!

In the meantime, [livejournal.com profile] deathaya just sent me her latest edits for La Mariposa, and it's looking super. (Love this show!) So don't give up on us yet; we are still working on things! ;)

So, Say It Again (based on "The Two Gentlemen of Verona") is a show that I have let sit on the back-burner for about four years, constantly meaning to get around to it as my next TIP project. And I thought this would be a good chance for it. Except, I realize we need completed Cosmos shows even more desperately than Snow ones. And Figaro! (based on "The Barber of Seville" and "The Marriage of Figaro") has also been waiting patiently for many years.

So, the choice is yours! Which hilariously fabulous comedy would you like? Say It Again or Figaro? Both have amazing casts (Naruse Kouki, Asami Hikaru, Kisaki Miri, Konno Mahiru, Misa Noeru, Misato Maya, Mirai Yuuki, Ai Youko, Miho Keiko, Tatsuki You VS. Mizu Natsuki, Ayano Kanami, Kuon Maya, Chiga Teruko, Ebira Kaoru, Izumo Aya, Tsukifune Sarara, Miwa Asahi, Kazune Mio) and both are very well done.

Hey everyone!

International Distro is open again. Thanks for your patience♥

For the June update I will say that Angels' Ladder is in the beta stage, getting edited by some fabulous and meticulous folks. I'm hoping to release it around the beginning of July.

Anyone have a preference on Grand Theater performances over Bow Hall, or vice versa? So far as TIP projects are concerned, I mean. I have a couple of projects in mind, but I don't want to give too much away. So you get to choose the shell on the left or the shell on the right. ;)
(ETA: Woa, woa! I love all of you for responding, but I'm not looking for title suggestions. My list is too long already, I'm sorry. I'm just trying to narrow it down.)

Hey guys, sorry, international distro will be closed for a while -- I appear to have screwed up my computer system and can't reinstall my DVD-ROM drivers *sigh*. As soon as I have the capability, it will reopen again. US/Canada distro is still open.

Hello, ladies and gentlemen!

Sorry for the radio silence, but we haven't disappeared, I promise!

Expect more progress on Angels' Ladder this summer, as the translator finally has free time to pick the project back up. :)

Hi everyone!

Well, we only received 11 responses to our poll, but 9 of those 11 wanted to keep to the status quo for packaging, so that's what we'll do.

The new costs are here, reflecting the new shipping costs in the US.

International distro is OPEN once more, but US/Canada is still CLOSED because of the distro gal being on holiday.

Cheers,
Jen

A question for all international TIP fans (this includes folks in Canada).

Previously, because shipping costs were rather minimal, we used padded envelopes. Then, it wasn't expensive, so even if a disc broke (a very rare happening), it was cheap to send another copy. However, with the new shipping costs it will be much more expensive to mail discs. I don't think we will be able to send replacements for free any more if a disc is damaged during shipping.

So, my question is: Would everyone prefer to continue with the padded envelopes, or would you prefer that we used boxes instead?

My (rough) estimate of air-mail costs would be something like $9.50 for one disc to Canada in a padded envelope, $13 for one disc to Canada in a box. $12 for four discs to Canada by padded envelope, $14.50 for four discs by box. // $11.50 for one disc to other international destinations by padded envelope, $14 for one disc in a box. $16.50 for four discs to other international destinations, $19 for four discs by box.

Distro will be temporarily closed, because of the increase in US postal service costs this coming weekend. Once we have had time to recalculate shipping costs, distro will open again.

Thanks for your patience!

Hi all,

Just a quick update to wish everyone a happy new year!

A couple of orders of business:

1) Since our last monthly update, we have had our 20th release! Romantica Takarazuka '04 was released in November.

2) Angel's Ladder is up as an official project, but it will probably be quite a while before it's done because we're working without a script.

3) The US Post Office will be raising postage costs at the end of January, so our costs will be going up accordingly. We'll post an update when we know more about what the new costs will be.

Cheers,
The TIP Team

Hi everybody! Happy Halloween to those of you celebrating it this week. :)

A couple of important announcements. As you all know, we've been tweaking international distro since I moved countries in August. Unfortunately, shipping is a lot more expensive from here. So we've made a couple of changes to international distro (i.e., everywhere besides the US and Canda):

1) I'm returning the EMS option on international orders. I had taken it away because EMS costs from here are absurd, but I do realise there are a few countries where you really need a tracking number. If you want EMS, let me know and I'll calculate it for you. Just be aware that it is extremely expensive.
2) There is no longer a disc limit on international orders. You can order as many discs as you would like, but please understand big orders will take longer. I've calculated the costs up to 20 discs here. I'm doing this mainly so people paying EMS costs don't have to do multiple small orders, but this option is available for all international orders.

So, let's see how this works for now. :)

In other news, there are several projects that are thiiiiiiis close to being done. We hope to have a bunch released before the new year.

First up:
Der Zigeunerbaron (shinjinkōen) is complete!

A quite funny and cute comedy, starring shinjin kouen leads Uzuki Hayate and Hanahi Mira.

Hi everyone!

As always, thank you so much for your kind words and feedback on our translations. It means a lot to us to know that people are enjoying them, and constructive criticism is always useful to help us make our future projects even better!

However, we've recently learned that some people have been using our translations to make subtitled videos which they are posting online on YouTube and other places.

Please, please, please don't post our subtitles online or use our translations without asking our permission. I realize that the rules of netiquette are shifting and blurring, especially with the "share" features so prevalent in social networks like Facebook, Tumbler, and the like. But the members of TIP have a very strong wish to keep our subtitles off of the internet. We had a similar issue once before and almost decided to stop subtitling.

If you see our subtitles or translations being posted online, please send a polite message to the poster to ask them to remove them, or please let us here at TIP know. Often it might be a simple language misunderstanding, but we want to get these things cleared up as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Cheers,
The TIP Team ♥
